When it comes to caring for our families most Americans are becoming more conscious about the food we eat and put on the table for our children. We are becoming increasingly aware that this country’s food system is severely broken if not totally corrupt.
Do you ever wish we could go back to a simpler time? When we were connected to our local farmers. When the milk man would deliver milk in glass quart jars right to the house. Where you knew and trusted where your food came from? Well Maybe it should be that way… And maybe it could be that way!
How would you like to receive weekly deliveries of fresh local milk right to your door? From a small-scale local operation, not a huge factory farm run by a total strangers three states away that is trucked processed bottled and stored and shelved for weeks before it gets to you.
I grew up on a local family-owned dairy farm in Lafayette NJ. When I grew up I left the family farm, but it has always been my passion and part of my calling to care for cattle and produce quality food. I held on to a dream where I could produce and market small scale locally. Over almost 2 decades I learned, strategized, researched and pieced together the necessary pieces to work towards that end.
Since being raised on a farm we always had fresh raw milk from our own cows. It was all I had ever known. Ater leaving and moving away it took years before I could drink “store bought milk”.
I am currently creating a plan that would provide weekly deliveries of fresh raw milk to a very select few interested neighbors. I envision it as a subscription that could be paid monthly from a credit or debit card for convenience (as I rarely carry cash on me anymore).
One caveat is that legally I cannot sell raw milk in NJ. So, I am bottling it as “Craft Milk” which is designed to use for making lotions soaps and candles. Of course, what you do with it after you purchase it is entirely up to you😉. My family drinks only fresh raw milk we produce on our homestead. So I am passionate about creating a healthy safe and quality product.
